Burger & Lobster Soho
Probably two of the best food combinations in the world ever. This American chain has blessed British shores with a generous handful of restaurants splattered all over the country. Many of these are based in and around London, and having stalked them on instagram for a good year I finally had the opportunity to go.
The restaurant itself has been decorated like an upperclass and rustic American diner with open plan kitchen and well equipped bar. The atmosphere as you walk in is extremely welcoming, yet the tone is not dampened by an over the top costumed waiter like many diner chains in the UK (not naming any names there).
The menu is small but sufficient. It's not over complicated, featuring about ten items in total plus weekly specials. They seem to have nailed the two foodstuffs perfectly, the burgers are big and the lobster is fresh. You can even see them swimming around in lobster tanks. You have the option of ordering up to a kilo of the shellfish; enough for anyone to kilo-ver (sorry).
We chose to sample a little bit of everything as we are greedy little piggies. They are famous for their lobster rolls and immediately the one on the special took our fancy. The roll consisted of a perfectly toasted brioche, filled to the brim with spiced lobster tail. My mouth is watering thinking about it. To add to this we ordered a 10z beer burger and a whole pound of lobster which was finished off on the grill and accompanied by a gravy boat full of garlic butter, oh and fries of course. Expect to be kitted out with the all important utensils plus a ravishing big for the bits your mouth missed.
Not only was the food impressive but so was the price. Normally you can expect to shell out (get it?!) for Lobster as it is notoriously expensive and whilst the place isn't cheap, you get what you pay for. The portion sizes are huge, with orders arriving in shining silver platters, much like shining beacons of happiness.
If you're intrigued by the chain then you can locate a restaurant nearest to you by hopping along to thier website. I would always recommend booking a table as you can imagine the place is in constant high demand.
Saying I can't wait to go back would be an understatement!
